'The Cosmic Tourist' was published on 11 October 2012, and was written by Brian May with 'The Sky At Night' presenters Sir Patrick Moore and Chris Lintott. It is the follow-up to the 2006 book 'Bang! The Complete History Of The Universe', and is the last published work of Patrick Moore, who died on 9 December 2012. A revised edition was published in 2016, with a different cover.

The book features 192 pages (coincidentally the same number as 'Bang!') and includes photographs of some of the greatest sights in the universe, from planets and stars, to dust clouds and comets, many from Brian's personal collection.

Scans of the book appear towards the end of this page, while more information can be found at the book's website, http://www.banguniverse.com/the-cosmic-tourist/.

The following is taken from the back of the book itself:

Take your seats for the greatest tour ever - one that encompasses no less than the whole of the Universe. En route, we stop off to gaze at 100 amazing sights - from asteroids to zodiacal dust. Your tour guides are the three intrepid cosmic voyagers: Brian May, Patrick Moore and Chris Lintott. They describe what we see as we head out from the Solar System into deep space, and illustrate the journey with a profusion of glorious colour images. Always reminding us how far we have travelled from home, they explain each stop on the tour in terms of the very latest astronomical science. Their personal enthusiasm for each marvel we encounter shines through. Once the trip is complete, there is even a guide from Patrick Moore to enable the tourist to locate many of the stops in the night sky, viewed from back home on planet Earth.

About the authors:
Brian May is an authority on cosmic dust, as well as being guitarist, songwriter and producer for the legendary rock group Queen. Patrick Moore is a lunar specialist, and has been presenter of the BBC TV show 'The Sky At Night' for more than 55 years - an unbelievable record; and it is no exaggeration to say that in that time he has been an inspiration to every living British astronomer. Chris Lintott researches the formation of stars and galaxies, and is the founder of Zooniverse.org, involving an unprecedented half a million volunteers in real astronimcal research.

The team's previous book - 'Bang! The Complete History Of The Universe' - has sold over 150,000 copies worldwide, and is currently in it's third edition. Now May, Moore, and Lintott return with a highly stimulating and entertaining journey at the speed of thought, to the very edge of the observable universe and perhaps beyond....
